Hello dear reader!
Welcome to the inaugural monthly Numerology forecast.
Let me introduce myself — my name is DaisyJane, I’m 26, and I live in the beautiful city of Seattle, WA. I’ve been studying the mystical language of numerology for over a year and my Life Path is 11/2 (if you don’t know what that means, don’t worry! We’ll get into it.)
For those who may be unfamiliar, numerology is an ancient practice of reading the energetic imprints of numbers. Similar to how astrology maps the position and energies of the stars and planets, numerology explores the frequencies and positioning of numbers related to your birth (your personal chart) and the years and months you’ll live through.
So, how does it work?
Most numbers are derived from adding up all the single digits in a given set of numbers, often from a date, until you arrive at a final single digit.
Let’s practice by finding your Life Path number (for those versed in astrology, this is similar to your sun sign.)
Add up all the single digits in your birthdate until you get to a single digit — unless it’s a double-digit, like 11, 22, or 33.
Example: if your birthdate is 12/22/2001, you would calculate the following:
1+2+2+2+2+0+0+1 = 10
1+0 = 1
Example: if your birthdate is 2/12/1999, you would calculate the following:
2+1+2+1+9+9+9 = 33
Here, the first person has a Life Path of 1 and the second person has a Life Path of 33. Each digit has a unique expression and characteristics that tell a story when we put it into context.
In addition to the nuances of our personal charts, we are all influenced by the overarching energies and themes that are present in the world at large - referred to as the collective.
Each calendar year comes with a number known as the Collective Year. The energy of the year’s number will be present and affect all of us, both individually and on the global stage, to varying degrees.
This year, 2024, is an 8-year (2+0+2+4=8), which means the world is experiencing heightened 8 energy. The 8 is all about abundance, manifestation, wealth, success, and balance between the spiritual and material worlds - and also lack thereof, so you may be experiencing ease or difficulties in these areas.
Each month has a number. This is calculated by adding the calendar month to the Collective Year number. So, for this year of 2024, to find October’s Collective number, you would add 10 (as it’s the 10th calendar month) + 8 (Collective Year), which pairs down to 9 (1+0+8).
The energy of this number, in the context of the collective, is the purpose of today’s forecast.
Energy overview of the 9 – Phoenix rising
The 9 sees us through big transitions and transformations, major times of change. In many ways the 9 represents endings. Transformation, after all, is the ending of one cycle and the beginning of another — but just as the 9 represents the ending, it is also the beginning; death and rebirth are inextricably linked. The energy of the 9 invites us to release attachment and surrender to the transformation, which ultimately supports us in following our highest timeline.
I know all of this sounds a bit intimidating and heavy — and don’t get me wrong, there’s some pretty heavy energy coming our way. However, I want to preface this by saying that 9 is one of my favorite numbers.
The 9 is the number of divine, unconditional love. It’s deeply caring and comforting. It’s your neighbor that you’ve never talked to before bringing you soup when they heard you were sick. It’s your favorite song playing on the radio when you’re crying in the car. It’s your friends throwing you a surprise birthday party when you thought they all forgot about you. It’s strong grandmother energy, whispering words of wisdom in your ear while she strokes your hair and rocks you in her arms. You are safe and warm in her embrace. She has seen change, knows how to ride the waves, and is there to guide you through it. Lean into her and you will bear the transformation with more ease and grace.
Key words:
unconditional love, service, wisdom, maturity, community support, connection, collective consciousness, humanitarianism, collective good, environmental protection, kindness, compassion, breaking cycles, release, purging, completion, healing, promise of new horizons.
Shadow:
Despair, suffering, grief, loss, resistance to change, self-sacrifice, selfishness, emotional overwhelm, coldness and pessimism when faced with all the suffering in the world
October as a 9 month:
The world is facing big things right now. The dawning of the Age of Aquarius is upon us, and we are breaking into an era where the rules of the previous two thousand years no longer apply. This energy is shifting whether we like it or not; the old paradigms must be released to make way for the new.
This is a bumpy, sticky time. The collective is in the process of purging the ways of being that no longer serve us. In the United States, the presidential election is quickly approaching, and while political tensions are beginning to ramp up, so are natural disasters. We are seeing in real-time how the systems in place are failing to support our communities in times of great need. Wars are being waged, famines, diseases, hurricanes, inflation… the list goes on. Especially with our current technological access to information through social media and the news, despair (the shadow energy of the 9) can creep in all too easily.
If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, remember to be gentle with yourself. Remind yourself that we are all in this together. No matter what happens in the world, our relationships and our webs of connection are what will support us. You ARE supported — even if it doesn’t always feel like it.
Often, the best way to open yourself up to support is to ask how you can be there to support others. This month is a beautiful time to examine your relationships and ask yourself how you are contributing to your community, on a peer-to-peer level and on a bigger scale. Ask yourself: Is there anything I can do that would strengthen my network of support? How am Iparticipating in the world to create the future I want to live in?
At the same time, allowing yourself to be vulnerable and asking for help gives permission to others to do the same, creating a reciprocal circle of care. What would nourish you? Is there a way you can communicate that to your loved ones?
The way this resonates into your personal life might be small… you might clear out your closet and organize a clothing exchange with your friends (small community events are a great way to nourish your support network!). You might have an impromptu deep clean of your pantry.
Or, you might find yourself signing up for volunteer opportunities this month; this is how I’ve noticed the 9 energy playing out for me. I’ve wanted to do this type of work for a while but struggled to make it happen. Then, right as we entered October, I signed up for two different volunteer opportunities without having to think about it!
You will likely feel the resonance of the collective’s journey on some level. Practice noticing it and witnessing what you feel drawn to do during this time of release and transformation.
Now, let’s explore more ways that this energy might play out by diving into some astrology!
Astrology
Sun in Libra until October 24, then transition to Scorpio
Venus in Scorpio until October 17
Until the sun moves into Scorpio on October 25th, we, as a collective, will be experiencing overtones of Libra energy. Libra is all about balance, relationships, communication, and justice.
Venus, ruler of the sign of Libra, governs love, relationships, and money. And until October 17th, Venus is in Scorpio — the sign of death and rebirth (sound familiar?).
You may find these aspects of your life — your love life and close relationships, or even the way you make money or your relationship with your finances — being initiated into themes of transformation.
Again, this is not inherently a bad thing, and for some it may come with ease! The world is giving us a nudge to look at our shadows, the things we might not want to deal with normally, right in the face. Whatever happens to you, try to see it as an invitation to examine how your values line up with the way you are living out your life, especially your relationships.
If you feel called, take a moment to reflect on this. Ask yourself: is there any pain or resentment I have been holding onto that I am ready to let go of now? Are the people in my life supporting me to live my values, and am I providing the same support for them? Is there anyone that is holding me back, or anywhere I am holding myself back from stepping into my full potential? Are there any needs of my own I have been ignoring for the sake of keeping the peace?
Another astrological element at play is the solar eclipse in Libra on October 2nd. This time last year we also saw the first in a series of an eclipse in Libra, of which this one will be the last - and the final eclipse in Libra for the next couple of decades. This represents the ending of a cycle and a shifting of energy — all having to do with justice, with the balancing of the scales, ethics, and morals. Think back to what was going on on the world stage this time last year. For example, last Libra season saw October 7th, the acute beginning of genocide and massive scale war crimes against civilians in Gaza, which is still ongoing. Hopefully the end of this eclipse cycle will bring with it some healing and respite.
The eclipse in Libra, the 9, Venus in Scorpio — they are here to help us heal ourselves so that we might collectively heal the way we approach politics and justice and living our values, both as a collective and individually. This is a time to look deep at where our personal and collective wounding is rooted. Our shadow is the key to healing ourselves, our families, our communities, and then the world.
When we allow ourselves to embrace the darkness, the light shines through. Letting go of the old inevitably invites the new. This is a great opportunity to look back at your own past year and lovingly acknowledge how much you have grown. What have you let go of that was no longer serving you?
Consider where and who you were last year. Celebrate the ways you have changed, what you have accomplished. Our world moves so quickly, it can be easy to forget the wonderful things we’ve learned and experienced. So in this 9 month, don’t forget to reflect with some appreciation and gratitude before the dawn of the next chapter arrives.
Next month brings us the exciting, courageous energy of the 1. As we enter the portal into the darkness of night, trust that the sun will rise, and we will emerge from the chrysalis as a beautiful butterfly. Vibrant, spectacular, strong.
Connection to Tarot
Card: The Wheel of Fortune
You have completed this cycle within a cycle. The wheel continues to turn.
Reflect on how far you have come, what you have accomplished, and what wisdom you have gained. Prepare for the cycle to begin anew.
The Wheel of Fortune and the energy of the 9 are reminders of both the finite-ness and infinite-ness of all things. The duality of life and death — their coexistence can seem an impossible contradiction, yet without the other each would cease to exist.
The Wheel of Fortune is always turning. While this can be challenging, it is also quite reassuring. If you are going through a difficult time, remember that this too shall pass. There is always, always another thing coming. Fortune is on its way, and the deeper you open yourself to the change, the deeper the transformation will be on the other side.
October is a special month in numerology, because it offers a little preview of the energy that will meet us in 2025. Next year will be a 9 collective year. All of these themes will come around again, but on an even bigger scale. It has the potential to be a very turbulent year for the world at large, but it’s important to remember that there is always another side of the coin. While one polarity gets stronger, so does the other. When crisis hits, the people to come together. We’re already seeing so much collective action and support for humanitarian causes. That will only continue to grow. As much as the media might try to convince us otherwise, most people are good at heart. We will always be much more alike than we are different.
Main takeaways:
Surrender to the process. Everything you desire is just on the other side of fear. Face the darkness with an open heart and you just might be reborn into the life of your dreams. Reach out to those you love, and strengthen your connection to your community.

Quote: “I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
